ELIMINATION ROUND CHALLENGE

ELIMINATION ROUND: (August 1-8, 2007)

THEME – SCRAPLIFT YOUR IDOL

-          Scraplift any of your Idol’s works.

-          Only scraplift of international artists will be allowed.

What is SCRAPLIFTING?

- The act of copying ideas and designs from another person’s scrapbook page to use in your own pages.
(from http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1184)

Scraplifting is deriving inspiration from an existing work. You use it to guide you when your own layouts and create something uniquely your own from somebody else's work.

Designs or ideas can be scraplifted in whole or in part. You can use the scraplifted layout as a template of how your idol placed her photos or how she placed her titles and embellishments. Therefore, it doesn't have to be a carbon copy of the layout you want to scraplift.

Another important factor in scraplifting is that since you're using someone else's design and/or idea as an inspiration, it is important to give credit to the one you lifted your layout from. This is a way of thanking and showing appreciation to the one who conceptualized the original layout.

In this challenge, it is also important that your own layout should also be able to showcase your style. In other words, MAKE IT YOUR OWN. After all, the focus of this challenge is on YOU!

  • To join, submit a 12x12 layout as your entry
