Christine Tica - My Girl
|

Layout Techniques/Design Used:
REDUCE: I used one maroon cardstock for the horizontal background of the fence, matting for the recycled packaging item of 7 Gypsies and title. I chalked all the edges of both matting and fence with white chalk. I used Stickles to blot the edges of the title to give a glossy and glittery accent.
RE-USE: The item I chose to use for this challenge is a black heavy duty rubber shelf liner. To make the large layout corner positioned at the upper right corner of the page, I cut the rubber shape and applied pigment ink. Then I sprinkled it with UTEE and heated it . Then I sprinkled with pearl ex while still warm. I reheated the surface and stamped with leaves image.
Using the same item, I cut again the liner with unequal rectangular shapes. Then I applied acrylic paint on it. Then I gently tapped with my finger the liner on the paper. Using paper tweezer, I slowly lifted the liner. A stamped polka dots with square image is therefore produced on the paper located at the bottom of the photograph.
Recycle:
I. Packaging Items - I used 4 scrapbook packaging/label items as part of my layout design.
a. 7 Gypsies for transparencies package - I used it as a base background for the photo.
b. K and Company Amy Buttler for fabric tags package - I used it as an accent for the photo .
c. K and Company for grand adhesion package - I used the back portion of the package to cut 3 frames. The designs are already
printed at the back by the manyfacture's company. I sprayed the frame with shimmering mist, then I applied clear UTEE. Used
heat gun and inked the edges with Gesso.
d. Chatterbox for frame opening label - I used it as a fence. I first cut the label into strips to create the illusion of a fence, then I
adhered foam squares to create a dimension look.
II. Bottle Caps - I flattened the bottle caps with a hammer then I attached it with an eyelet. Colored it with alcohol inks and added
gold art accentz or glitters.
III. Fiber from a rope-like thing - I simply used it as an added feature to create a rustic look. I also used it to form a cross-like knot at
the center of the fence.
Journalling: Denise. 8 years old. She is pure, gentle and innocent. She is my girl.
