Paper Piecing Techniques used:
Christmas Tree- I scanned a pattern of a Christmas tree meant for paper piecing from Scrapbooks Etc. Nov./Dec. 2008 issue and printed it. I traced the pattern on green and light green cardstock for shading and cut them out. I layered the pieces on brown construction paper as the trunk. I inked the edges of the leaves with green ink pad and chalk. I embellished the tree with glitter glue, beads of different colors, bells and felt star.
Holly- I cut out the shape from checkered green pp by folding the paper in half and making reverse scallops. I inked the edges and the middle with green ink pad. I put three hollies together, embellished with diamond glaze and red buttons.
Gift boxes/gift bag- I roughly drew 3-D boxes on different pp. I cut them out and made separate box tops and used foam tapes for dimension. I embellished with ribbons. I used a pattern from a book for the paper bag. I cut out a rectangle shape from a pp and folded the sides and the bottom, left an opening at the top. I placed a small strip of pp as the handle and embellished with gold foil.
